ABOUT
The second profile album of Horňácká dulcimer music, Kubíci, has a carnival theme in the introductory set of songs, because carnivals have a strong tradition and great popularity in the Horňácko region. The band regularly participates in carnival patrols, not only in Velká nad Veličkou, where most of them come from, but also in the surrounding villages. In the Horňácko region, the carnival procession is primarily a male affair, and it is a celebration of good food, “slivovice” and beautiful women expressed by singing songs. On the album, you will also hear a nice set of wedding songs by the Fěrtúšky Girls' Choir. In the set of the Chotár Men's Choir, you can get acquainted with the roots of individual singers, who also sing here as soloists. Everyone introduces themselves with a song from their native village.
