Krajina Ró Invites You To Hotel Blázen, The Band Was Founded By Michal Němec, Frontman Of Jablkoň

“Visit Hotel Blázen, it's cool. It will probably be closed everywhere else anyway,“ Krajina Ró invites you to listen to their debut album. The formation of the band, which defines its genre, with exaggeration, as light rock foxtrot, was initiated by the frontman of the legendary group Jablkoň, Michal Němec. The band members include  guitar talent Tomáš Frolík, who is four decades younger, and singer Anna Břenková. The band, consisting of five prominent personalities of the Czech music scene, also includes the experienced drummer Michael Nosek and Johnny Judl Jr. on bass guitar.

"Hotel Blázen is one of the few hotels that did not suffer from problems with visitors, yet thanks to its bottomless capacity, it has a room ready for everyone. Some guests are already regular customers, others come and go. Many of the unstable ones will return, but there are also those that no one will ever see in Hotel Blázen again. The main character of our story decided to go crazy, but in the end he just stayed, sat down and went on again," says Michal Němec on the pilot single, which defines the entire debut album.

Němec started putting the band together with the talented guitarist Tomáš Frolík. This 27-year-old guitarist has previously drawn attention to himself as the frontman of The Bladderstones or in the bands Livin Free and the band of Sabina Křováková. In addition to the conservatory, he also gained experience with respected players Robben Ford and Marcus Miller

Němec’s old acquaintance is the bassist from Jablkoň, Johnny Judl Jr., who in addition to The Bladderstones also plays with The Plastic People of Universe, but also Michael Nosek, who in addition to The Bladderstones is also part of the bands The Odd Gifts, Sabina Křováková, Livin Free or Mário Bihári & Bachtale Apsa. In addition to playing the drums, he also composes for his own band, Personal Highway.

On the other hand, Němec has his first common musical experience with his niece Anna Břenková, who occasionally performs with the bands Paprsky inženýra Garina, Cermaque or The Shifty Grifts and is also part of the Puppets in Hospital project.

In Krajina Ró, in addition to the impressive, colorful alto of Anna Břenková and the variously shaped baritone of Michal Němec, the distinctive tones of the electric guitar thrive. Surrounded by interesting ideas and various electronic weirdness, it adds the sap of contemporary sound to the music. Both the bass guitar and the drums willingly participate in this process and reliably grow into medium and eccentric streams of intense rock showers, or lazily rolling velvet moods.

Not only the title, but also the final track is very relevant in the current context. "Yesterday I set fire to the theater / which still had shows on / it was fiery beautiful / and had many encores," Němec sings in the song Jenom informace, without knowing at the time of its creation what is waiting for the society this year...
