Je všechno dobrý? Je to složitější.

Marie Kieslowski finished recording three songs for her debut album and now is releasing the whole set on vinyl and CD under the title “Je všechno dobrý? Je to složitější.” (i.e. "Is Everything Good? It's More Complicated.")

Her solo debut album "Je všechno dobrý?" (i.e. Is Everything Good?) in digital form or as a book of interviews was published by Marie Kieslowski in 2022. The three new songs under the title “Je to složitější.” (i.e. "It's More Complicated.") which complement this recording, will take you into stories that no longer carry personal topics but, rather, look outwards. Marie recorded new songs together with her bandmates, drummer Jakub Kočička and bassist Marek Novotný.

Maria Kieslowski's songs are built around her characteristically tinged alto, delicate piano accompaniment, vocal loops and colourful arrangements. "It was the first time I went into the studio without a producer and it took me a while to realise that no one else was going to do the arranging work for me," Marie admits. "Once I accepted the role, the mixing started to work and I'm so glad I approached Amak at Golden Hive to record it."

Marie Kieslowski confirms that the EP's title "Je to složitější." is not just a simple repetition of the title of one of the new songs, but also a reflection of the current situation in the songwriting scene:

"Everything is much more complicated than I thought before the release of my solo album. Gradually sobering from the heady dream that music could fill all my work functioning. The reality of the Czech indie scene, where a large number of bands compete in front of a small audience, has hardened over the last 5 years." But the work itself brings Maria joy and a lot of positive energy. "I have had good responses to my songs and especially to my concerts. Especially from my peers, who are actively experiencing the joyful and difficult moments of parenthood, but also from the older generation, who are drawn to my expression or lyrics with no kinks.”
