Nejistota

The fourth album by the duo Kolektivní Halucinace from Kladno, CR, is called Nejistota. The new recording "Nejistota" (i.e. Uncertainty) was recorded by the band Kolektivni Halucinace (i.e. Collective Hallucination) under the supervision of producer Tomáš Havlen. Three years have passed since the release of the previous album "Reality", the trio has become a duo and the reality of the current world has begun to penetrate more and more by uncertainty, which the band processed into ten songs. The album “Nejistota” is more a capture of a state of mind than a sound construction and the result is an authentic essence of the atmosphere of its time.

     Kolektivní Halucinace is formed by a couple of musicians from Kladno. Drummer Tomáš Příkaský and Jakub Mühlfeit, who, in addition to singing and playing guitar, writes all the lyrics in the band. Jakub explains why the album is called Nejistota: "Everyone is waiting for the good old world to return. But it will be uncertainty that will embrace us to set everyone free. If you want to know what has been happening before our eyes since the release of our previous album Reality, listen to our new album. It's a stash of emotions, a package of music and poetry, mixed and matched and ready to become part of your reality."

     The lyrics seem to intertwine between dreaming and at the same time completely reflect the surrounding situation. Everything is then supported by the sometimes minimalist and sometimes almost electronically hyperpop music, which builds on the songwriting foundations that Kolektiví Halucinace has been traversing since their first album. "Tomas Havlen (also one half of the band post-hudba) told us that he wanted to clarify the message of the lyrics with a pop sound, and this principle became the guiding factor for our collaboration on the entire album. The fundamental change was that the producer seemed to become a member of the band. We discussed everything  in the smallest detail with each other, and what you hear came out of our mutual dialogue." says Jakub Mühlfeit.

     With each recording, Kolektivní Halucinace progresses in its search for the best possible symbiosis between poetry, musical lyrics and the form of the song itself. In this case, Nejistota (Uncertainty) is a bit of a misleading title for an album that offers such strong songs.
