ABOUT
JARRET – VZTAHEM ZAPNI (Pull to Switch on the Relationship)
The Liberec folk-rock group Jarret did not let its fans wait for another five years to release a new album, as was the case of previous albums Unikat and Hic Non Sunt Leones. This is mainly to the credit of Martin Ledvina (formerly Druhá tráva, today the group of Lenka Dusilová), who took up the production of the whole album and found a new, more modern sound to the band. The composer of the majority of songs is Bohouš Vašák, even if he does not play in the band any more. His songs and a distinctive style are a crucial and important feature of the band, as well as emotive, beautiful and clear voice of Hanka Skřivánková. The band has been playing since 1992, and during years of honest effort it managed to enter the circle of folk stars, obtained a number of prestigious prizes, provoked attention of critics and now represents a young folk-rock presence. Mastery on stage made them stars of evening programs of open genre festivals. The new album evidences that neither the authors nor interpreters have rested on their laurels, and made a pleasing and balanced album with clear musical idea, oscillating between folk song, clever pop and rhythmic and inventive rock.
