During the fifteen years of its existence, the blues band from Zvolen has ranged among the best groups on the Czechoslovak blues scene. Tradition in a modern electro-acoustic blues robe with funky and shuffle & boogie elements, authentic Slovak texts, the unmistakable singing of guitar player Noro Červenák, very good instrumentalists and the expressive harmonica of Boris Čiampor – a sure enough launch to Europe’s class groups, confirmed by frequent concerts abroad. The distinctive and indeed unique sound of the group tends to Chicago blues, but generally the record emanates musical playfulness, a strong invention and, most remarkably, enjoyment from playing music. Emotions are genuine here – sad songs are truly sad, cheerful ones truly cheerful. An attractive raw analog recording sound from Ivo Viktorin’s “V” studio in Zlín and a rarely seen dose of feeling crown the unique record of contemporary blues.
