ABOUT

The fourth and probably the most manifold album in the band’s history summarizes everything what the band has been through during its almost ten-year existence. A fair amount of music mixed of folk, punk, ska, hip-hop, country and folk music from all possible corners of the world is served here from one cauldron. CD includes 14 songs and two videos. This time Traband has not used only the “time-tested” Balkans and Jewish klezmer in its music, but it has been also inspired for example by folk music from Moravia, Ireland, Bretagne, Mexico or Peru. However in essence of this musical omnivorousness there is nothing else than ordinary, solid song embellished by for some people maybe unusual instruments: tuba, trumpet, bass flugelhorn, clarinet, banjo, accordion etc.

Behind the stories with a tinge of fairytales, myths, exotics these songs have been always hiding some allegory, resemblance, which refers to the present in space and time. For example the song “A Rope That Binds Us to Heaven” is actually a simple almost marine song and at the same time a profession of faith. The song “I Don’t Like Dwarfs” is also about the citizenship in us. The song “Stowaway” is in reality about the life failure in freedom and you can find also a video to this hit song on the CD. After his cooperation with Michal Horáček Jarda Svoboda has prepared a balanced collection of Traband’s songs that have been traditionally released in the paper digipack.
New video that was filmed during September is for the song “Stowaway”. The video features an old fried of the band and occasional co-player Vláďa Javorský. The video is a part of the CD.
